The Free State of Saxony is funding the establishment of a repair and recycling center for bicycle batteries in Kamenz in eastern Saxony. The project of the company Liofit is being supported with 1.38 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund, the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced. The total investment amounts to 3 million euros. Liofit's customers are private individuals as well as bicycle dealers and battery manufacturers. The recycling center is scheduled to go into operation in 2026.
