Droughts, floods and forest fires: In view of the fatal consequences of global warming, the climate protection movement Fridays for Future (FFF) is also gearing up for the next global climate strike in Dresden. On September 15, the activists want to draw attention to the dramatic nature of the climate crisis. Nationwide, nearly 180 demonstrations are planned so far. "Now half of the legislature of the traffic light coalition is rum and we young people are just disappointed. Instead of making progress in terms of climate policy, as promised at the time, the traffic light is even taking steps backwards by gutting the climate protection law," explained Zahra Pischnamazzadeh of FFF Dresden on Monday.
On the weekend, FFF Dresden had campaigned for participation in the Global Climate Strike at two major concerts in the Saxon state capital. To the concerts of the bands AnnenMayKantereit and Kraftklub with several tens of thousands of fans each, the environmental movement was present with flyers and banners. AnnenMayKantereit itself called for the demonstration, it said.
