27 large-format works are currently on display at Kastenmeiers Restaurant in Dresden’s Taschenbergpalais. Under the title “Farbrausch,” an exhibition is on view through October 9,
Visitors to Kastenmeiers through October 9 will encounter not only the restaurant’s cuisine but also the strikingly colorful art of Saxon artist Ann Gol’dor. In the 27 works on display, the artist combines painting, photography, and experiments with materials. Ann Gol’dor uses bold colors not merely as a decorative element. Her works emerge from the combination of different techniques and materials—ranging from photography and mixed media to painting and works on aluminum, sometimes complemented by gold and silver accents.
Her upcycling works are particularly interesting. Existing images and objects are not simply reused, but artistically reinterpreted. One example is the work “Punkt 12,” which features a deer at its center. The piece has already won an award and is also tied to a personal family story of the artist.
