FC Erzgebirge Aue remain stuck in the relegation zone of the third soccer league. Aue coach Jens Härtel's team suffered their third defeat on matchday five with a 3-0 (0-2) loss against Viktoria Köln. In front of 7,349 spectators at the Erzgebirgstadion, the hosts were initially dominant in their first match after the international break, but missed many chances. The visitors proved to be very efficient and secured their first ever win in Aue.
For example, Leonhard Münst finished off a fine combination with a header with Cologne's first chance (20'). On the second goal, Tim Kloss was headed on by Aue defender Ryan Malone and the ball flew from his head into the goal, again giving captain Martin Männel no chance (44').
Aue failed to make any effort to catch up after the break and were booed by their own fans after around an hour. In contrast, Cologne, who dominated the second half, rewarded themselves with a third goal from Benjamin Zank (86').
