RB Leipzig will kick off the new Bundesliga season with a home game. According to the schedule released by the Bundesliga (formerly the DFL), the Saxons will host Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Red Bull Arena on August 29 or 30. A week later (September 4–6), the team led by new head coach Martin Demichelis will face Werder Bremen.
The top match against double champion FC Bayern Munich will take place on the sixth matchday (October 16–18) in the Bavarian capital. The Eastern Derby against 1. FC Union Berlin will be played between November 20 and 22 at the Stadion An der alten Försterei.
On the last matchday before Christmas (December 18–20), RB will host Borussia Dortmund. The first half of the season will conclude between January 15 and 17 with an away match against TSG Hoffenheim.
