National player Giovanna Hoffmann will leave Bundesliga club RB Leipzig this summer. This was announced by the club. The 27-year-old, who made the leap into the German national team in Leipzig, does not want to extend her expiring contract.
"It was incredibly difficult for me not to extend my contract, but sometimes opportunities in soccer don't come around twice," said Hoffmann, who suffered a cruciate ligament rupture on matchday 6 against SGS Essen. She moved to Leipzig from SC Freiburg in the summer of 2024. "I was shown a lot of trust and appreciation right from the start, even though my career had stalled before the move," said the striker.
