After the semi-final match of the Saxony Cup between Chemnitz FC and FC Erzgebirge Aue, the police are investigating pyrotechnics and damaged toilets. According to the police, the home fans from Chemnitz had repeatedly set off Bengalos before and during the match. In addition, sanitary facilities in the guest area were damaged. In total, the police initiated more than two dozen investigations into attempted grievous bodily harm, primarily by setting off pyrotechnics and damage to property, during the operation surrounding the district derby. Around 500 police officers were deployed.
