RB Leipzig have traveled to the training camp in Almancil with a 29-man squad. Head coach Ole Werner's team will be in the Portuguese Algarve until January 7 to prepare for the next Bundesliga match on January 10 at FC St. Pauli (3:30 p.m./Sky). The program includes a total of five training sessions at "The Campus" in Almancil, three of which are open to the public. A planned test match has not yet been scheduled due to a lack of opponents.
One of the 23 professionals who will be sweating it out in Portugal alongside six youth players is striker Timo Werner. However, he should still leave Leipzig if possible in the winter transfer period that has just begun. Assan Ouedraogo, Antonio Nusa, Ezechiel Banzuzi and Yohann Bakayoko are also part of the squad. Lukas Klostermann (illness), Kevin Kampl (personal reasons) and of course Yan Diomande are missing. The discovery of the first half of the season continues to play with the Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup.
