The Bundesliga footballers of RB Leipzig can continue to rely on the services of their top scorer Marleen Schimmer. The 25-year-old has extended her contract early until at least 2028, the club announced. Schimmer moved to the Saxon trade fair city from 1. FC Köln in the summer of 2024 and has scored eleven goals and provided six assists in a total of 29 competitive matches.
"She has outstanding attacking qualities and has the ability to decide games - especially with her dynamism on the ball and her finishing power, which is unparalleled in the league. Her extension is an important sign for our offense," said Viola Odebrecht, Head of Women's and Girls' Soccer at RB.
