Leipzig women pick up point against Werder Bremen

The RB Leipzig women's soccer team had to settle for a draw in their first competitive match in a month. The Bundesliga club were held to a 1-1 (1-0) draw against Werder Bremen after two different halves. With 27 points, the Saxons remain in tenth place in the table. They were already certain of staying in the league before the game.

In a game that started off in disarray, Delice Boboy pushed Lisa Baum's assist over the line in the 13th minute. The hosts had two more chances, but Bremen kept a low profile in the first period.

Bremen come back strongly

After the half-time break, Bremen became more active and were awarded a penalty in the 63rd minute. Top scorer Larissa Mühlhaus, who will play for Eintracht Frankfurt next season, gave Leipzig goalkeeper Elvira Herzog no chance with her 13th goal of the season.

Just before the end, Leipzig were lucky that Herzog was on hand to save a corner and prevent their eleventh defeat of the season. But Leipzig also had a great chance to win at home shortly before the final whistle. Overall, the draw was fine.
