Third division soccer club FC Erzgebirge Aue will have to do without striker Marcel Bär for the time being in their fight for promotion. The Violets' top scorer with 13 goals suffered a torn muscle fiber in his right thigh in the 2-1 defeat against SpVgg Unterhaching last Saturday. The club announced this on Tuesday.

It is not yet clear when the 31-year-old will be able to return to action. The club, currently eighth in the table and six points off the relegation places, will also be without defenders Anthony Barylla and Linus Rosenlöcher as well as midfielder Omar Sijaric. Midfielder Maximilian Thiel is also not yet fit. "We're gradually running out of material," said FCE coach Pavel Dotchev in the statement. Nevertheless, the team is confident going into the remaining four league games.
