The Thüringer HC women’s handball team celebrated its third victory in its third Bundesliga away game. Coach Herbert Müller’s team secured a decisive 33–23 (18–12) victory on Saturday evening in the eastern derby against BSV Sachsen Zwickau and, with an 11–1 record, remains in second place behind HSG Blomberg-Lippe, which is tied on points. In front of 868 spectators, Jana Scheib and Levke Kretschmann were the THC’s top scorers with six goals each. Nina Ramusovic also scored six times for the second-to-last-place team (1:11), coached by Norman Rentsch. The favorites struggled for much of the first half. The Zwickau team defended courageously and repeatedly impressed on offense with good plays. Starting in the 20th minute, however, technical errors began to pile up. The Thuringian team now launched more fast breaks and pulled ahead 18–12 with a 4–0 run before halftime. After that, the THC had the game firmly under control. By the 42nd minute, they had extended their lead to ten goals (25:15), effectively sealing the victory early on. Copyright 2026, dpa (www.dpa.de). All rights reserved
