The handball players of Thüringer HC have their sights set on reaching the quarter-finals of the European League. The team of Head Coach Herbert Müller put in an impressive performance to beat Romanian top club HC Dunarea Braila by a surprisingly clear 38:28 (16:11) and so celebrated its third win in its fourth game in Group A. Johanna Reichert was the best scorer with twelve goals. THC also won the direct comparison with Braila. The Romanians had won the first leg 26:22.
The Thuringians got off to a nervous start to the game and initially failed repeatedly against the visitors' goalkeeper Elena Serban. It was not until the sixth minute that Reichert scored the first goal for the THC. The hosts then forced a duel at eye level. They caused the favorites major problems, especially with their quick transition play.
