Leipzig's handball team can barely avoid relegation. But the personnel plans for league two have already been finalized. A goal-scoring player is coming in at right back.

Despite the imminent relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga, SC DHfK Leipzig's personnel plans have already been finalized. The club has signed 22-year-old backcourt player Finn Schroven. This completes the second division squad for the coming season, the first division team announced. With two games remaining, Leipzig are four points and 38 goals behind a non-relegation place. "Relegation is now only a theoretical scenario," wrote the club itself.

Sixth and final new signing

The SC DHfK recently signed Fritz-Leon Haake from Dessau-Roßlauer HV. The 21-year-old right-handed player has signed a contract until the summer of 2028. Schroven, who is moving to Leipzig from TSV Bayer Dormagen, has also signed a two-year contract.

"Finn is one of the best players in the second division in his position at right back and also has his strengths in playing at pace and cooperating with his teammates," said head coach Frank Carstens about the 1.90-metre player. He is set to form the new right-back pairing with international Franz Semper.

After Haake, Anadin Suljaković (HSG Wetzlar), Tim Hertzfeld (Dessau-Roßlauer HV) and the two U20 internationals Caspar Gauer and Anton Voß (own youngsters), Schroven is the sixth new addition to the green-and-white squad.
