After an unsatisfactory end to the season, the Erzgebirge are undergoing a major personnel shake-up. An experienced defender is the first newcomer.

From Ingolstadt to Aue: Ryan Malone is the first new signing for third-division soccer club FC Erzgebirge Aue. With his experience, robustness and aerial prowess, the 32-year-old American is set to become an important building block in the defense next season.

Malone has already played in Germany for ten years, including appearances for 1. FC Magdeburg, 1. FC Lok Leipzig and FC Hansa Rostock. He played a total of 65 games for Ingolstadt and scored ten points in the past season.

After losing the Saxon Cup final against Lok Leipzig (5:6 in the final), FC Erzgebirge said goodbye to Steffen Nkansah, Niko Vukancic, Ali Loune and Linus Rosenlöcher. The departures of Mirnes Pepic, Kilian Jacob, Sean Seitz and Omar Sijaric had previously been announced.
