Jonathan Norbye has joined Norwegian first division club Fredrikstad FK on loan from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. The Saxons announced that the loan deal is valid until the end of the season and includes an option to buy the 19-year-old central defender.
Norbye joined Leipzig from Alta IF in the summer of 2023. The Norwegian left-footer has since played 48 youth games and one Bundesliga match. In May 2024, he featured in an away match at Eintracht Frankfurt. Last summer, Norbye moved to promoted second division side Arminia Bielefeld on loan, but returned to Leipzig in the winter.
