Without Ridle Baku and Timo Werner, RB Leipzig have started their preparations for the away game at FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga. Five days before the match at the WWK-Arena on Saturday (3.30pm/Sky), Baku only underwent individual training due to a knock suffered in the match against Hamburger SV (2-1), as the club announced. Attacker Werner is suffering from a mild infection and will not play at all.
With 16 points from seven games, Leipzig are in second place, five points behind leaders Bayern Munich. Augsburg are 13th in the table with seven points.
In addition to the duo, long-term injuries to Kosta Nedeljkovic and Benjamin Hendrichs, who are both undergoing recovery training, are also absent. Youngster Viggo Gebel tore a cruciate ligament in his right knee in the U19 match against Hallescher FC and, according to RB, will not be able to play again until next season.
