The RB Leipzig women's soccer team has advanced to the round of 16 in the DFB Cup. Coach Jonas Stephan's team won 2-0 (2-0) at Sportfreunde Blau-Gelb Marburg. RB captain Annabel Schasching put her team ahead after just two minutes with a cross from the left side that dipped over the Marburg goalkeeper and into the net. After a quarter of an hour, Emanuela Pfister extended the lead to 2–0. Unlike RB, the Hessenliga team had gotten off to a strong start to the season. With five wins in five games, the Blau-Gelben sit atop the standings. The Leipzig women didn’t secure their first Bundesliga win until the fourth matchday, a 2–1 victory over 1. FC Nürnberg, and have already lost three of their five league games. Nevertheless, Leipzig was the dominant team; the difference in class was more than evident.
