The Norwegian international has developed so well in Leipzig that the club is now planning to keep him until 2028.

RB Leipzig has given Norwegian U19 international Jonathan Norbye his first professional contract until 2028. The club's U19 captain joined RB in 2023 and, according to the sporting management, has developed strongly.

The 18-year-old central defender played for Alta IF in his native Norway. There he gained his first professional experience in the first team of his home club at the age of 15.

He made his Bundesliga debut for RB on the final matchday of last season at Eintracht Frankfurt. Since then, he has trained regularly with the professionals. In the last two games in Wolfsburg (3:2) and against Kiel (1:1), Norbye was once again part of the professional squad.
