Eleven days before the start of the regular season, Bundesliga club RB Leipzig had to do without four players in training. According to the club, Ridle Baku and Romulo trained individually as part of their load management, as did Lukas Klostermann due to groin issues and Assan Ouedraogo following his shoulder injury. Leipzig will face Regionalliga club Eintracht Trier on August 22 in the first round of the DFB Cup (6:00 p.m./Sky).
In contrast, new signing Abdoul Kone took part in the first part of team training. The 20-year-old center back from Stade Reims, who was loaned back to his former club for the second half of the season after signing a contract in January, injured his shoulder at the end of July and has had to sit out training ever since.
