Yan Diomande must report to training as usual on Tuesday morning. The planned brief visit—including signing autographs for fans at today’s public training session—was canceled because Leipzig’s superstar, like the other World Cup returnees David Raum, Nicolas Seiwald, Lutsharel Geertruida, and the injured Christoph Baumgartner, had to work up a sweat during the mandatory performance tests at the academy or undergo medical examinations in downtown Leipzig.
Move to Real Not Yet Finalized
And unless a last-minute agreement with Real Madrid is reached—which Leipzig does not expect—the Ivorian will have to complete Tuesday’s double training session with new coach Martín Demichelis. Even though the 19-year-old rising star’s agents are firmly convinced he will move to Real Madrid. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also already reported on the transfer. However, according to dpa information, nothing has been finalized at RB Leipzig yet; many details are reportedly still up in the air.
However, the general direction is clear: Diomande is set to join the storied Spanish club Real Madrid for more than 100 million euros and sign a long-term contract there running through the summer of 2031. Neither club has confirmed the deal. Leipzig wanted to keep the speedy winger for at least one more season. Even during the World Cup, the club had rejected an offer from Liverpool FC for a transfer fee of 100 million euros. Real Madrid’s first offer at that amount was also rejected.
