The Niners Chemnitz basketball team missed out on its fourth home win in a row in the German league. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore narrowly lost to Telekom Baskets Bonn by 75:76 (42:30). In front of 4,600 spectators, Corey Davis Jr. was the Niners' best scorer with 21 points as they dropped to twelfth with 24:30 points.
Chemnitz got off to the better start with a 12:6 lead, but then adapted to the visitors' weak display. It remained a tough game with many interruptions until midway through the second quarter, before the home side stepped up the pace considerably and produced an 11:0 run to pull 40:28 ahead in the 19th minute.
After the break, the Niners' flow of play almost came to a complete standstill at times. Bonn took the lead for the first time midway through the final quarter (61:60). The home side regained its accuracy from the three-point line in the final spell and recaptured the lead. Yet it was not enough. Bonn's Grayson Murphy drained a three with four seconds remaining to make it 76:75. The last shot by Davis Jr. from Chemnitz came up short.
