Despite the recent unsatisfactory results in the Bundesliga and Champions League, RB Leipzig are looking to the future. "We want to keep attacking and show that we can score goals," said RB midfielder Nicolas Seiwald in a media round table. The Saxons recently played two goalless matches in the league against 1. FC Union Berlin and FC St. Pauli, losing four points in the process. On Saturday (3.30 pm/Sky), coach Marco Rose's team will host FC Augsburg in their next Bundesliga match.
Seiwald believes the goal drought is home-made. "We often get sloppy in the crucial situations, even taking one or two too few touches. We want to play directly and then we make bad passes. We also don't have the same drive towards goal as last season," said Seiwald.
The Austrian international believes that the flow isn't there from time to time. "What we excelled at, the one-on-one, the direct finish on goal, that's missing. But I'm sure it will come back," said Seiwald.
He is also certain that Xavi Simons, who is currently lagging a little behind his form, will find his feet again. "You can see every day in training that he is a top player and also has the actions in training that made him stand out last season. That will also happen in the games," emphasized Seiwald.
