Bundesliga club RB Leipzig is facing another long-term absence. According to the club, forward Marc Guiu will be sidelined for several weeks. The new signing from Chelsea FC suffered an injury to his left hamstring during training. Guiu, who was signed for 15 million euros, has made one start so far—in the 1-4 Champions League loss in Como. Just earlier this week, RB announced that Assan Ouédraogo would be sidelined. The national team player must undergo surgery on his right shoulder due to a capsular injury. He is not expected to return this year. The 20-year-old had already sustained the injury during preseason. After conservative treatment, he was fit to play again. But the injury flared up again during the 5-0 win over Hamburger SV. In addition, Leipzig has been without last year’s top scorer, Christoph Baumgartner, as well as new signing Rocco Reitz for quite some time.
