Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel expects an all-around battle for the championship this Bundesliga season. In addition to Borussia Dortmund, the 50-year-old has Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig on his mind. "These teams play very well, are dangerous and successful," Tuchel said after the 2:2 in Leipzig. Speculation, however, would be of little help at the moment. "We have to go our own way and show bite."
Sporting director Simon Rolfes of Bayern Leverkusen sees the tension at the top of the table unreservedly positive. "I think that's where every soccer fan in Germany is happy when things get tight in the Bundesliga for a long time," Rolfes told ZDF's "Sportstudio."
Bayern had previously played against Leverkusen only 2:2 and thus not yet won a top duel this season. According to Joshua Kimmich, this is not necessarily due to the strength of the opponents. "We invite them and give them fodder to get into the game," the international said in Leipzig. Munich leveled a 2-0 deficit in the second half at the Cup winners. "It was important that we showed a reaction."
