Benjamin Sesko is set to leave RB Leipzig for Manchester United. According to reports from transfer experts and the German newspaper "Bild", the Slovenian has decided against the offer from Champions League contender Newcastle United and in favor of the traditional club.
According to reports, both clubs had submitted similarly strong offers to RB, which are said to be around 85 million euros with bonus payments. Final negotiations on the exact transfer formalities have yet to take place. Representatives of Newcastle and Manchester United are said to have already been in Leipzig for several days.
Sesko had probably always favored a move to Manchester, although the club, like RB, will not be playing internationally next season. United's director of professional soccer, Christopher Vivell, would celebrate a hat-trick with a transfer of Sesko: He once brought the Slovenian to RB Salzburg (2019), then four years later to Leipzig.
