Despite achieving all of his season goals with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, coach Ole Werner appears to be on his way out after just one year. According to media reports, 45-year-old Argentine Martin Demichelis is set to take over the team—which finished third in the last championship—for the upcoming season.
According to the newspaper "Marca," the move to Leipzig was apparently finalized in the past few hours. As Radio Marca Baleares reports, Demichelis has reached an agreement with RB that now only requires official confirmation from both clubs. According to Sky, Demichelis is the top candidate at RB, but nothing is set in stone yet. Argentina’s BolaVip reported that RB is prepared to pay a three-million-euro transfer fee.
The former player and youth coach for FC Bayern Munich had been coaching RCD Mallorca, which was relegated from the Spanish first division, since February under a contract initially set to run until the end of the season. He had recently extended this contract through 2028, though apparently with an exit clause.
