Marco Rose does not want to make any major changes to the squad after the bitter 1-0 defeat in the Champions League against Real Madrid. "We don't have any big English weeks ahead of us now. There's no reason to make any major changes," said the RB Leipzig head coach ahead of this Saturday's top match in the Bundesliga (6.30pm/Sky) against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Nevertheless, he warned against the visitors: "Gladbach are defensively stable and defend diligently - they are good at switching."
The former Foals coach still has excellent contacts with Borussia. "With players like Alassane Pléa, Florian Neuhaus and Julian Weigl, Gladbach also have very good footballers in their ranks. So we need a really good performance tomorrow. They're great guys, some of whom I'm still in contact with," said Rose about his time at Gladbach, where he was from July 2019 until the end of June 2021. "We qualified for the Champions League back then and made it to the round of 16. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of people again."
Against his former club of all people, Rose can break the 100-point mark as Leipzig coach. Gladbach arrive with a poor away record: Their last win came on September 30 last year, and they have not managed a three-point victory in seven games. The Saxons have managed nine wins against Borussia so far, three of them at home in succession. RB have never lost to Mönchengladbach at the Red Bull Arena.
