As soon as the coaching issue at 1. FC Magdeburg has been resolved, the team's personnel is also moving on. A talented attacking player arrives from Hanover.

No sooner has the personnel issue surrounding new head coach Markus Fiedler been clarified than the next new addition arrives at 1. FC Magdeburg. The Elbe-based club have signed 19-year-old Nick Meier from Hannover 96, where Fiedler's predecessor Christian Titz is now head coach. Offensive man Meier last played in the second team of Lower Saxony and only made 13 appearances (one goal) in the 3rd division last season due to injury.

"Nick is a young, talented player in whom we see the potential to make the leap into the 2nd Bundesliga with us," said FCM sporting director Otmar Schork.

Meier played for HSC Hannover until 2014 and then came through all of the 96ers' youth teams. He also played one international match for the U-16 national team.
