The women of RB Leipzig missed out on a potential win at second-placed VfL Wolfsburg. The Saxons lost 2:3 (1:0). Gina Chmielinski (9) gave the visitors an early lead. International Janina Minge equalized after 59 minutes, Lena Lattwein (66, 84) made it 2:1 and 3:1 for the Wolves before Chmielinski (90) reduced the deficit again with a direct corner. With 27 points, Leipzig find themselves in no-man's land in the table.
Leipzig started the game better and took the lead through Chmielinski. However, the hosts got better and better and created several top-class chances, especially through Lineth Beerensteyn. RB resorted to counter-attacking, but Leipzig striker Delice Boboy was also unable to add the visitors' second goal.
After the changeover, VfL's pressure increased. RB were rarely able to launch any attacks to relieve the pressure, which resulted in goals being conceded. The opposing box became an increasingly distant target for the RB players. The third goal they conceded decided the game. The visitors' morale was boosted by the fact that they were able to make up for it in the closing stages.
