In May, UEFA will decide on the final venues for the Europa Conference League. Leipzig is a candidate for 2026 and 2027.

RB Leipzig, like other Bundesliga soccer clubs, is bidding to host the UEFA Europa Conference League finals in 2026 and 2027. The German Football Association (DFB) submitted the bid documents to UEFA in Nyon on Wednesday by the deadline.

"With the Red Bull Arena, the city of Leipzig has a state-of-the-art stadium at the highest level, which has already hosted many major international matches for our club and the national team in recent years. In this respect, the UEFA bid is an important step, a European Cup final would be the next major sporting event after EURO2024 in the summer," said RB managing director Johann Plenge in a statement from the German cup winners.

The DFB is bidding for three locations to host the finals. While Leipzig is in the running to host the Europa Conference League finals in 2026 and 2027, Eintracht Frankfurt is bidding to host the Europa League finals in the same period, while VfB Stuttgart is bidding to host the women's Champions League finals. UEFA's decision will be made in May. "We have submitted a convincing bid with all the partners involved and are entering the selection process with confidence," said Plenge.
