The handball players of SV Union Halle-Neustadt have announced their third new signing for the coming season. Lea Gruber is returning to the Bundesliga club. The 27-year-old backcourt player has signed a two-year contract for both the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga. The club made the announcement on Friday. Tina Wagenlader (Füchse Berlin) and the Austrian Viktoria Marksteiner (SC Ferlach) had previously signed a contract with SV Union. Gruber already played for the first-division club from 2019 to 2022 and was under contract with Swedish first-division club Kristianstad HK for the past two years. In the current season, the right-hander has scored 60 goals in 19 games. "Gruber is a great personality. She has a lot of experience and can defend excellently both in the center block and at the half position.
