Benjamin Henrichs of RB Leipzig makes his first start after his serious injury. RB coach Werner, on the other hand, will be without several players.

Benjamin Henrichs has returned to team training at Bundesliga club RB Leipzig after tearing his Achilles tendon just over a year ago. The 28-year-old defender completed parts of the team training session, as the club announced. El-Chadaille Bitshiabu and Romulo, who had previously been absent, were also on the pitch at the start of preparations for the final home game of the year against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday (18:30/Sky).

In contrast, Willi Orban and Ridle Baku only trained individually. Assan Ouedraogo was only able to complete a rehab session on the pitch following his tendon injury.

Six professionals missing

RB coach Ole Werner will have to do without a number of players. Ezechiel Banzuzi, who suffered a muscle injury in his left thigh in training last week, and Antonio Nusa, who injured his syndesmosis ligament in the game against Eintracht Frankfurt, will not return this year following their injuries. Viggo Gebel is also unavailable following his cruciate ligament rupture and Kevin Kampl (personal reasons).

Yan Diomande and Amadou Haidara are also missing due to their participation in the Africa Cup. According to media reports, Haidara is also on the verge of a move to French top-flight club RC Lens.
