Bundesliga club Hamburger SV has signed its first new signing for the 2026/27 season. As the club announced, defensive midfielder Kofi Amoako is moving to the Hanseatic city from second-division club Dynamo Dresden.
"Kofi brings a very exciting profile - his mix of physicality and athleticism, his strength in tackles and his intensity on the ball fit in perfectly with our playing philosophy," said HSV sporting director Claus Costa about the 21-year-old. The length of the contract was not disclosed.
Amoako played one season in Dresden, appearing in 33 competitive matches across all competitions. The Hannover native previously spent a year on loan at VfL Osnabrück in the 3rd division. He trained at VfL Wolfsburg from 2019 to 2024. He also made six appearances for the German U20 team.
