After the rioting by soccer fans at the men's handball Saxon League match between HSV Weinböhla and Zwönitzer HSV (38:28), the victim is still being treated in hospital. According to police reports on Sunday, 16 visiting fans, who are part of the ultra-milieu of third-division soccer club FC Erzgebirge Aue, beat up a 17-year-old in front of the Nassauhalle because he was wearing a Dynamo Dresden scarf. The match was then interrupted.
The police, who came to the scene with a large contingent, arrested six suspects aged between 17 and 22. They are now being investigated on suspicion of breach of the peace and grievous bodily harm, among other things.
