Erzgebirge Aue with a goalless draw against TSV 1860 Munich

Erzgebirge Aue once again produced a mixed performance and were unable to challenge for the upper reaches of the table. Against TSV 1860 Munich on Saturday, the third-division soccer club could not manage more than a goalless draw. In the 86th minute, 1860 Munich's Phillipp Steinhart was shown the red card after a foul on Sean Seitz.

The first half was even, albeit with slight advantages for Aue in terms of possession and tackles. Omar Sijaric created the first good chance in the 16th minute, but steered the ball around two meters past the Löwen goal. The visitors responded immediately, putting Martin Männel under pressure by hitting the post and then hitting a follow-up shot.

In the second half, the balance shifted and 1860 Munich were the dominant team. It was only after coach Dotchev made a triple substitution that some life returned to the hosts' play. Substitute Seitz (73') missed another great chance in front of goal. Later on, Seitz was at the center of attention twice. Firstly, he was fouled so badly by Steinhart that the latter had to leave the pitch. Seitz had a chance to win the game just a few minutes later, but shot the ball over the bar again. The Munich Lions thus remain unbeaten under their new coach Argirios Giannikis.
