The ThSV Eisenach handball team went down to defeat at home on Friday. The Thuringians conceded a clear 26:35 (11:15) defeat against TSV Hannover-Burgdorf and are now without a win in seven games. The club from Lower Saxony, which had lost its last six games, celebrated its first success since beating HSG Wetzlar 30:25 on February 14.
Justus Fischer (7), Leif Tissier (6) and goalkeeper Joel Birlehm (12 saves) played the biggest part in the visitors' two-point win. Only Oskar Joelsson (5/1) and Vincent Büchner (5) hit normal form for Eisenach.
The home side only scored its first goal in the sixth minute, but had already conceded four by then. ThSV was able to fight its way back to 10:12 in the 27th minute, but was not really able to put Hannover under pressure. Eisenach conceded ten turnovers and missed two seven-meter penalties as well as eight free throws from the arc. Hannover pulled away inexorably from 19:13 (37') and 25:17 (47') to 29:20 (52').
