RB Leipzig want to seize their second match point and qualify for the Champions League. One week after the 1:4 at Bayer Leverkusen, the Saxons will also need a win against FC St. Pauli on Saturday (15:30/Sky) to qualify for the top flight. This would mean that the season's goal would already be achieved on the penultimate matchday of the Bundesliga.
In terms of personnel, coach Ole Werner does not have to make any compromises. Captain David Raum should return to the starting eleven after the 28-year-old, who was previously injured, did not feature in Leverkusen. Maarten Vandevoordt will once again be in goal in place of Peter Gulacsi.
Several promotion heroes from 2016 will also be in attendance at the sold-out Leipzig Stadium. Ten years after promotion to the Bundesliga, former coach Ralf Rangnick and ex-players Marcel Halstenberg and Stefan Ilsanker have announced their attendance. In Gualcsi, defender Willi Orban and Lukas Klostermann, three promoted players from back then still play in Leipzig today.
