The Dresdner Eislöwen are making a fresh start after their relegation from the German Ice Hockey League without coach Gerry Fleming. The club announced that they are parting ways with the Canadian and his assistant Craig Streu. The duo only came to Dresden at the beginning of December, but were unable to prevent relegation a year after making the leap to the DEL.
"Gerry Fleming and Craig Streu took on anything but an easy task in December. Both worked with the utmost professionalism and commitment from day one and gave their all for the team right to the end," said sporting director Jens Baxmann. "With a view to the coming season, we will make a complete realignment behind the boards."
