The RB Leipzig women's soccer team lost their final home game of the season in the Bundesliga despite taking an early lead. Coach Jonas Stephan's team lost to Bayer 04 Leverkusen 1:3 (1:2) at the end of the 25th matchday. Leipzig, in tenth place, therefore no longer have a chance of finishing in the top half of the table.
Lisa Baum had put the Saxons ahead in the 4th minute, Cornelia Kramer (18th) and Katharina Piljic (38th) turned the game around for Bayer before the break. Ruby Grant (80) then made everything clear for the Rhinelanders.
Leverkusen maintained their chances of qualifying for the Champions League with their fifth league win in a row in fourth place. The gap to third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt is now just two points after the Hessians' 2-0 defeat at champions FC Bayern Munich. Leipzig face 1899 Hoffenheim in the season finale on Sunday, while Bayer Leverkusen host Werder Bremen (all games at 14:00).
