Regional league soccer team Chemnitzer FC set an example against third-division side Dynamo Dresden. Christian Tiffert's team won 1:0 (0:0) at their home stadium An der Gellertstraße in the dress rehearsal for the season opener. SGD, on the other hand, made it clear that new coach Thomas Stamm still has work to do. Manuel Reutter (58) scored the only goal of the derby in front of 5537 spectators.
The CFC will kick off the new season on July 25 against relegated Hallescher FC (8:20 p.m.). Dresden will test again in Auerbach against SSV Jahn Regensburg (July 27, 14:00) before heading to FC Viktoria Köln on the first matchday (August 4, 13:30).
