Second division soccer club VfL Bochum will be looking to continue their run of five games without defeat against penultimate-placed Dynamo Dresden on Friday (18:30, Sky). Coach Uwe Rösler expects a "game of cat and mouse" against a dangerous opponent.
With a win, Bochum could at least jump up to tenth place overnight. "But we need an absolute top performance to do that," said Rösler at a press conference. Born in Thuringia, he himself played for Dresden in the 1990s.
Since the 57-year-old took over as coach at the beginning of October, Bochum have picked up ten points in four league games (three wins, one draw) and have climbed from 17th to 13th place. In the DFB Cup, they won 1:0 at Bundesliga club FC Augsburg and reached the round of 16. Including the cup game, VfL have not conceded a goal for a good four-and-a-half hours.
The Bochum side will still be without Kevin Vogt, who had knee surgery on Friday. Full-back Leandro Morgalla is suspended. Slovakian midfielder Matus Bero is doubtful after suffering a foot injury in Monday evening's World Cup qualifier against Germany in Leipzig.
