Early goals conceded, red cards and fans leaving early: There is hardly any hope left for Erzgebirge Aue in the relegation battle in the 3rd soccer league. The Saxons scored three times against Hoffenheim while short-handed.

FC Erzgebirge Aue suffered their next setback in the relegation battle in the 3rd Football League and can intensify their planning for the Regionalliga. After a disastrous start, the Saxons lost 3:5 (1:4) against TSG Hoffenheim II and are still nine points behind a non-relegation place. With seven games left to play, nobody believes that Aue will be able to avoid relegation.

The chances of victory for Aue were gone after just a few minutes, as Deniz Zeitler (6th minute), Luka Duric (11th/29th) and Paul Hennrich (15th) made Hoffenheim's lightning start perfect. As if conceding three goals wasn't punishment enough, Jamilu Collins (19) was also shown a red card after an emergency brake.

TV footage showed some Aue fans leaving the stadium after just a quarter of an hour. They not only missed Marcel Bär's brace (40th/56th) and Ricky Bornschein's goal (85th), but also the next TSG goal from Zeitler (51st).

Still no league win under coach Dabrowski

This means that Christoph Dabrowski must also continue to wait for his first win in the 3rd division as Aue coach. The 47-year-old took over at the beginning of February. The third-division club's last win came on 20 December against bottom club Schweinfurt.

Since promotion from the then third-tier Regionalliga in 2003, Aue have played in either the 2nd Bundesliga or the 3rd division.
