Hamburg SV have completed the signing of Danish striker Yussuf Poulsen. After twelve years at RB Leipzig, the 31-year-old is moving to the Bundesliga promotion contenders for a transfer fee of around 1.5 million euros. The Hanseatic club did not disclose the term of the contract. In Leipzig, he still had a contract until 2026.
"He is a face of the Bundesliga. With all his experience and maturity, he knows all the facets of professional soccer. Yussuf has gone all the way from the 3rd division to the Champions League with Leipzig and therefore knows only too well what is important after promotion in order to stay in the top flight and establish himself in the Bundesliga in the long term," said HSV board member Stefan Kuntz. Poulsen will wear the number 15 at HSV.
The 87-time Denmark international is set to replace Davie Selke at HSV. The striker announced his move to Basaksehir FK in Istanbul on Friday evening. This Monday, Poulsen will join the Hambrug team at the training camp in Herzogenaurach.
