The Niners Chemnitz basketball team has bounced back in the battle for a place in the playoffs. The players of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore prevailed in a dramatic game against MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg by 104:100 (90:90, 32:46) after overtime.
Jacob Gilyard (10 points) drained the two crucial free throws with three seconds remaining to seal the final score. Apart from Gilyard, top scorer Victor Bailey Jr. (32), DeAndre Lansdowne (15), Jeff Garrett (12) and Kevin Yebo (11) also scored in double figures for the home side. Ezra Manjon (27), Joel Scott (25), Brandon Tischler (15), Jonas Wohlfahrt-Bottermann (14) and Hunter Maldonado (11) scored the most points for Ludwigsburg.
The home side was only ahead at 22:21 (11) in the course of regular time. Ludwigsburg then produced a 7:0 run to make it 28:22 (13') and stretched the gap to 46:32 at half-time and then even 58:41 (24'). However, the Niners forced overtime with a brilliant final quarter (32:19). Bailey Jr. made two free throws to make it 90:90.
