In June, the Oberwiesenthal town council decided to sell the ski resort on the Fichtelberg to a private investor. However, the investor recently canceled the notary appointment.

The privatization of the ski resort on the Fichtelberg is stalling. The planned notary appointment has been canceled by the buyer and is to be rescheduled, explained Oberwiesenthal's mayor Jens Benedict in response to a dpa inquiry.

The town council had already approved the sale of Saxony's largest alpine ski resort, including the historic suspension lift, to the private lift company Oberwiesenthal (LGO) in June. The price was set at 10.4 million euros by an external expert. At the time, it was said that the previously municipal Fichtelberg suspension lift would be transferred to LGO as early as mid-August. However, this has not yet happened.

The "Freie Presse" had previously reported on the current problems.
