The European Union is providing 14.5 million euros in funding for seven additional cross-border projects between Saxony and Poland. This means that all funds from the current Interreg program have been fully utilized, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. According to the announcement, a total of 60.3 million euros was available for the 2021–2027 funding period, which was used to support a total of 39 projects.
Among the projects now receiving funding is one designed to familiarize preschoolers in Poland and Saxony with the language of their neighboring country. Another project aims to expand cooperation between Poland and Saxony in the area of disaster response in mountainous regions, in order to better respond to the effects of climate change.
