The Saxon State Court of Audit has officially moved into its new building in Döbeln. The keys to the renovated and converted barracks building were handed over on Wednesday, as announced by the Ministry of Finance. In addition, seeds for a bee-friendly flower meadow were scattered in front of the building.

The approximately 160 employees of the State Court of Audit have been working in Döbeln since the beginning of the year. In January, the state's highest financial control authority moved from Leipzig to the city in central Saxony. The relocation had already been decided by the state parliament in 2012. However, the move was repeatedly delayed.

The move to Central Saxony is part of a law to modernize the state. The relocation of the large authority is intended to strengthen Döbeln as a medium-sized center.
