In the second quarter of 2025, slightly more foreigners who were required to leave the country were deported from Saxony than in the same period last year. The number of voluntary departures also increased significantly, according to the state directorate.
According to the report, 247 people were deported - 38 more than from April to June 2024. This included at least 73 offenders. In addition, 477 people left the country voluntarily - 189 more than in the same quarter last year. The voluntary departures were partly financed by the people themselves, but some were also supported by the state.
The rejected asylum seekers were mainly deported to Georgia, Tunisia, Morocco, Croatia and Turkey. According to the state directorate, most returnees who left voluntarily were Turkish nationals, followed by Venezuelan, Georgian, Syrian and Russian citizens.
As of the middle of the year, 506 foreigners from Saxony who were required to leave the country had been deported. A total of 920 people left voluntarily.
