Charging Your Car Right on the Sidewalk: How Leipzig Plans to Make Charging Electric Cars Easier for City Residents with Charging Curbs.

Electric cars can now be charged at select curbs in Leipzig. As part of a pilot project, so-called curb chargers are being made available at two selected locations near the City-Ring, according to a statement from Leipziger Stadtwerke. The test phase will last one year.

“We want to find out how the system works in everyday use, how it’s received by customers in Leipzig—and whether we’ll then install even more curbside charging stations in the city center based on these results,” said Benjamin Engelmann, e-mobility project manager at Leipziger Stadtwerke.
